The Warriors’ prolonged skid may have opened up another betting opportunity. I can’t make sense of their -3 line in this game, even with Biedrins out. They should make mincemeat out of this Sixers squad, playing on a road back-to-back.

Warriors are +5.5 at OKC tonight. The key to this game, in my opinion, is the way Smart chooses to guard Russell Westbrook, who has emerged as a true beast. It seems obvious to me that Monta should be assigned to him, and Curry to the offensively challenged Sefelosha and Harden. The Thunder are unaccustomed to running their offense through their two-guards, and if they want to attack Curry in that matchup it would force their offense into an uncomfortable direction. And Curry on Westbrook would be a disaster. Immediate foul trouble. This is obvious, right? Unfortunately, nothing has been obvious to Coach Smart lately. Continue reading

Warriors are +6.5 at Chicago. Let’s see. Warriors on a road back-to-back, their 4th game in 5 nights. David Lee was gashed to the bone, and has stitches in his shooting arm. It will probably be stiff as a board. Monta’s back will probably be stiff as a board. Stephen Curry’s ankle will probably be stiff as a board. Home and a soft bed has got to be a pretty appealing thought right now. If ever there was a game to take off The Warriors Bet, this would be it, right?

Finally. Am I the only one who feels like it’s been two years since last season?
The Warriors open the season as -3.5 favorites against the visiting Houston Rockets. Really, favorites? This line is quite mysterious to me. Maybe it’s because the Warriors are suiting up more than six players, and the bookies don’t know how to handicap that!
