Thoughts on the New Orleans Game

Don Nelson: Can we just take a moment to admire what Don Nelson did in his management of Hunter and Tolliver’s minutes?  Rather than match up conventionally, Nellie used Tolliver at center to start the game, pulling Okafor out of the lane.  If you want a reason why Tolliver scored 30 points, its because Nellie made him a focus of the offense going at Okafor, not David West.

Thoughts on the Laker Game

Stephen Curry: Is going to become the best pick and roll guard in the NBA since Nash and Paul.  His work last night with Chris Hunter was incredible.  If Curry can find the seams against the best defense in the league, working with a D-leaguer, what can’t he do?

Curry to Watson: Warriors 108 Hawks 104

The Spurs are a +5 road favorite against the Warriors tonight.  Oy. Oy.

Pre-Game Jitters

Monta vs. Kobe!  The Lakers invade the Oracle tonight.  We’re hoping that the newly super-charged Warriors can get an upset win, but let’s be real, all eyes will be focused on the battle of one-named wonders.  Can Monta do to Kobe what he did to Brandon Roy?

Roster Analysis: The Bench Players

Corey Maggette

The Warriors’ sixth man could be getting set for a big year.  After a year in Nellie’s system, and hopefully injury free, I expect Maggette to start this year as fast as he started last year slow.   Continue reading
